Karen worked as a teacher of philology and built an academic career. Design in her life was present only as a hobby: she loved to watch thematic programs on TV, subscribed to designers on Instagram. Friends and acquaintances trusted her taste and asked for advice, when they made repairs. Intuitively, not knowing the norms of ergonomics, Karen found successful solutions ... But she didn't even think that she could design professionally.
When Karen was writing her PhD and preparing for her defense, there was more free time, and her hobby turned into a passion. She started watching webinars of designers, and while watching one of them, something clicked in her head: "Why not? After all, this area is very interesting to me! When, if not now?"
It was a webinar by Mary Black. So Karen decided to take the course and try her hand at design.

DOUBT AND DIFFICULTIES DURING THE COURSE
Karen's main fear at the beginning of the course: will it be possible to keep up with everything? After all, she had a main job, three sons, a big house, many daily duties. Here Karen appreciated the advantages of online learning:

PERSONAL VICTORY
Karen admitted that she is most proud of having mastered 3D visualization.
Prior to that, she had only elementary programs and skills. Work in Homestyler became a real test for Karen, but also a personal achievement.

FIRST PROJECTS OF KAREN
During the training, 5 projects were completed. Two of them have already been implemented: this is a free apartment project in a new building and a summer kitchen project for oneself.

I want to wish you not to be afraid, but to go towards your goal right now. Because everyday things never become less, and time - more. This I know for myself. There will always be everyday problems, and time is irretrievably running out.
